Tour Blog: Showtime!

As you all know, Shakira's World Tour, The Sun Comes Out (Sale El Sol) kick-off yesterday in Montreal (Canadá) and we, ShakiraHQ, couldn't wait to share the excitement of watching Shakira onstage again.



Yes, after weeks of rehearsals, Shakira's World Tour finally kicked off last night in Montreal. Before the show, we ducked into the the dressing room, where the whole band (Una, Joe, Grecco, Olgui, Tim, Brendan, and Thomas) were hanging around. There were no obvious signs of nervousness - instead they were all smiling and excited. As Tim told us, "Now it's showtime. No more rehearsals. Time to enjoy playing in front of a full house!".

And what a beautiful venue Montreal's Bell Stadium was. Out front, we saw a lot of Colombian and Mexican flags (congratulations Mexico for your Bicentenario). We also saw anticipation written across people's faces. Clearly everyone was ready and willing to have a great night.



And that's what they got. As soon as the house lights went down, another set of lights came on - the lights of the flashes of the cameras. Shakira, wrapped in a gorgeous pink outfit, descended the stairs, shaking hands with fans while singing a track from her very first album (Pies Descalzos), Pienso En Ti...




After a few more rapturously-received songs, Shakira spoke to the crowd. "I have the premonition that this is going to be an amazing tour," she said with a big smile. "I just had that feeling." After last night's show - and the crowd's amazing reaction to it - we know exactly what she means. Roll on Uncasville…
